Leonard Peltier is an imprisoned Native American, a political prisoner who should be immediately released. He was convicted for the deaths of two FBI agents who died during a 1975 shoot-out on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. Following this September 3rd benefit voku, there will a film night on Sunday September 9th at 20:00pm with the documentary ‘Incident at Oglala’ by Michael Apted (USA, 1992, 89min.)
The 1992 documentary Incident at Oglala depicts the murder of two FBI agents on the Pine Ridge Reservation in 1975 and the legal aftermath. Gathering Thunder Foundation members and supporters would benefit from viewing this film because it outlines some of the tension between tribal factions that still exist on the Reservation today.
