Thursday April 17th 2014, ‘We are here’ benefit – De VluchtMarkt, Volkseten Vegazulu, 7pm.
Last Sunday, the ‘We are here‘ group, undocumented migrants movement, has occupied Ten Katestraat 49, 63 and 65.
Two of the buildings (63-65) are owned by the housing corporation Rochdale, which left them rot for years, and has emptied the houses of all facilities, pipes and cables for preventing anyone to squat them. This week the group and their supporters are reconstructing the buildings, as to make it liveable again. So far the basic facilities have been fixed, but much more work and materials are needed.
This benefit voku will provide some funds for buying construction materials. Please donate, and feel free to pass by the VluchtMarkt to have a tea, or to help renovating!
Volkseten Vegazulu is a people’s kitchen, every monday and thursday, 19:00 PM, vegan food for 4€ or donation. All benefits go for social & political struggles. No reservation.
We’re always looking for cooks. Any help is welcome in the kitchen. Experience not required. Enjoying it is a must. If you want to know which days are still available in the schedule, send an email to joe[at]squat.net and book yourself the night. You can, of course, also participate by rolling up your sleeves and doing the dishes.
