Sharp Knives from Lisbon on the stage at Joe’s Garage for the first time. Well, they already know this space. They just recorded their first record: “This is also a result of our personal and collective experiences & growth, so inevitably Disgraça (the anti-authoritarian social center where we conspire) and everyone involved there are a big part of it. It’s our home and it deserves our gratitude as much as everyone else.

Squatting being criminalized, rare are the squatted spaces left to hold concerts, benefit events or soup kitchens. Joe’s Garage as a squatted social center, is supporting bands, performers, activists, fellow squatters who understand the urgency to support each others, to strengthen our networks. In other words, start networking on something else than facebook, instagram, twitter, spotify and youtube. So rare are the bands these days making the effort to have a decent website, to the point we, at Joe’s Garage, are less and less interested to make space for such bands.

Do you want to perform on the stage, play a concert at Joe’s Garage? Get in touch, we are curious to read on your website, not on corporate facebook, where you’ve been playing in the past, where you’re heading to.

Prague Tattoo Circus benefit by Ajo Negro

Thursday May 2nd 2019, Prague Tattoo Circus benefit by Ajo Negro, antiauthoritarian kitchen group. The meals are striclty vegan and soja and gluten free. Volkseten Vegazulu, 7pm.

Prague Tattoo Circus 4th edition will be on 23-26 May. Tattoo Circus is a DIY festival achieved through the collaboration of artists who use creativity to unite people in the anti-prison struggle. It celebrates self-expression whilst exploring the politics of freedom.
You can expect to meet there tattoo artists and performers who use their creativity to bring awareness to the plight of those incarcerated and oppressed under the laws of coercive governments. All of the money collected during the event goes to organisations supporting political prisoners on the inside and outside.
We have been organising tattoo circus in Prague since 2016, thanks to the inspiration of all those mega folk behind tattoo circus here and in Barcelona, Lausanne, London and Berlin (to mention just a few), and not forgetting the original in Rome, 2007!
The festival will provide space to get informed about prisoners and their struggles, and the wider anti-prison movement. You can read about individuals, write letters of solidarity and generally just support the cause how you can.
For the rest, we will introduce in the coming weeks, but expect live bands and DJs, theater, films, lectures, discussion, distro, and some top quality food and drinks.
The organisation of Tattoo Circus is horizontal, with everything decided collectively. If you want to join the circus and enrich the cause, then contact us at prahatattoocircus [at] riseup [dot] net
