Anarcha-feminist readings and discussions

Wednesday October 23, 2024, Anarcha-feminist readings and discussions. From 19:30.

Let’s read some zines, books, or other anarcha-feminist texts together! This time and space are meant to learn and discuss topics related to anarchafeminism, feminism, and anarchism, and most importantly, to offer a space for anarchafeminists to hang out, have a drink, vent about cismen, and organize, perhaps. So, if you’re not that much into theory (kind of like the organizer), you’re still welcome!
Important: Bring your zines and books!!
Event catered to WLINT* (Women, lesbians, intersex, non-binary, transgender) people
PS: Place is wheel-chair friendly and it’s warm and cozy inside, children welcome

Voku for Piepend en Krakend

Monday 9 October 2023, Voku for Piepend en Krakend. Food served from 7pm, no reservation.

Come eat some sexy noodles cooked by feminists who got their funds saved by Piepend en Krakend. In order to continue the fight, all the proceeds of this voku will go to the fund of Piepend en Krakend so we can continue to defend our housing and our social spaces!

AFGA (Anarcha Feminist Group Amsterdam) squatted Kanaalstraat 128 in May 2023 after been vacant since at least 2017: “our newly opened house and social space, by anarcha-feminists for anarcha-feminists. We squatted this house, abandoned for multiple years, for multiple reasons: Villa Mina is now AFGA’s own social space. We can organize there anarchist, feminist and queer events in accordance with our values. The house only houses women and gender minorities out of a depressive reason: this demographic is deeply affected by the housing crisis in an often invisible way. We are more likely to stay in dangerous and dependent situations rather than to choose to end up on the streets, where the risk of sexist and sexual violence is almost 100%. Squatting for women and gender minorities is not a new phenomena, it was also an important feminist tool in the 70s-80s in Amsterdam. We are looking forward to improve the house, the social space and of course to open new houses for this cause.”
