Benefit for legal costs of an attempt to prevent arrest

Monday February 3rd 2014, Benefit for legal costs of an attempt to prevent arrest, Volkseten Vegazulu, 7pm.

Recently some friends of ours attempted to prevent the arrest of 2 so called “illegal” refugees. Luckily, the refugees did not get arrested. It was a spontaneous and direct act out of solidarity, which unfortunately resulted in huge legal costs. Now we don’t want that our friends (or ourselves, or anyone else) refrain from repeating such actions because of fear for fines. Fortunately there’s a thing called mutual aid: Come eat at Joe’s, to share the load, to support (y)our friends, and to support all refugees! No borders, no nations! […Lees verder]

ICAD Benefit

Thursday January 23rd 2014, ICAD Benefit, Volkseten Vegazulu, 7pm

ICAD, International Committee Against Disappearances, has established in Istanbul in 1996. Direct reason was the disappearance of Hasan Ocak, a Turkish activist, in march 1995. Two months later his body was found. To let disappear is a manner of state terror to paralyse social protest
against oppression and exploitation. Family, friends, political co-activists don’t know if their beloved ones are still alive. Not only political murders, tortures, extra-juridical killings, secret detention centres is a manner of state terror but also “disappearances”. […Lees verder]

Monday January 6th 2014: Benefit for Anarchist Collective Ghent, Volkseten Vegazulu, 7pm.

Joe’s Garage invites you for a benefit voku for the Anarchist Collective of Ghent (AKG). What is the AKG and why this benefit?

The Anarchist Collective of Ghent (AKG), is a group of young individuals who carry out activities and actions based on anarchist ideas. We organise lectures, info evenings, open discussions, workshops, movie nights and much more. We have a mobile bookshop including posters and pamphlets with all sorts of anarchist topics. Since quite a big part of the AKG consists of students we also spread information on our activities at universities. Our main goal, off course, is to introduce people to anarchism. This is done by spreading posters and pamphlets at universities and on the streets and also by taking part in actions like demonstrations. The history of the AKG as well as what we do and what we stand for can be found in the latest issue of Buiten De Orde (magazine of De Vrije Bond, issue nr.3 of 2013). […Lees verder]
