Saturday 26 september 2020, Burendag on the Steve Bikoplein. Info table, give away shop, drinks and warm food! From 14:00 untill 20:00.

Join us on the square for some drinks or food. We’ll serve Zapatista coffee, kefir, warm borscht and apple cake. Check out the banners and info table, get some update about what’s happening at Joe’s Garage and around in the hood, grab some flyers or some political magazines in Greek, Spanish, English or Dutch. The give away shop is also joining the square, get some books, clothes, bring what you don’t need, your old crowbars and (tomato) seeds for the spring uprising. Meet the community and check out what’s happening in the Transvaal neighborhood. The square is big enough to keep distances from each-others.

Kaixo Korrika lagunak!

Badakizuenez, Korrika Euskal Herri osoan zehar egiten den euskararen aldeko ekimen erraldoia da. Euskararen aldeko kontzientzia suspertzea eta euskaltegien eguneroko lana indartzeko dirua biltzea ditu helburu. 2019ko apirilaren 4an hasita, 11 egunez eta gelditu gabe, Korrikak Euskal Herria zeharkatuko du 21. aldiz. http://www.korrika.eus/en/
Aurten, lehenego aldiz, Amsterdamera ere iritsiko da Korrika! Apirilaren 7an igandean 13etan elkartu eta Herbeheretako hiriburuko kaleak zeharkatuko ditugu euskararen alde. Dam-en hasiko da lasterketa eta Oosterpark-eraino iritsiko gera. 4 kilometro besterik ez dira eta denak batera jutearren erritmoa oso lasaia izango da, beraz ez izan beldurrik eta animatu zaitezte!
Ondoren, 15ak aldera, Joe´s Garagera hurbilduko gera ekitaldiarekin jarraitzeko. Bertan Holandan bizi izan ditugun bizipenak eta esperientziak partekatu, lehiaketatxoren bat egin (irrintzi lehiaketa, mus txapelketa etab.) eta euskal kantak dantzatu eta abestuko ditugu.
Bi aste besterik ez dira falta! Bazatoz?

Sunday April 7th 2019, Korrika Amsterdam, from 15:00 till 19:00.

Hi Korrika friends! KORRIKA is an important event hold in the Basque Country that aims to boost awareness of the Basque language and raise funds to support “Euskaltegi´s” (schools where Euskera is taught). It is a non-stop run that crosses the whole Basque Country in 11 days. http://www.korrika.eus/en/
And this year Korrika will come to Amsterdam for the first time! We will meet and run through the streets of the capital of the Netherlands, as our friends will do in the Basque Country. The run will take place on Sunday, 7th of April and it will start at 13:00 in Dam Square. It will not be more than 4km long and the pace will be really slow so that we can go all as a group. Therefore, you don’t need to be super athletic to join!
As we said, we will start in Dam and end up in Oosterpark… but this is not finished! After the run, we will meet at Joe´s Garage (https://joesgarage.nl/), where we will continue the community reunion, sharing our basque experiences in the Netherlands, playing a PubQuiz and hopefully singing Basque songs and dances all together!

Vigil for Peace – PazAlaCalle Holanda

Simultaneous meeting at 12:00. Amsterdam – Brussels – Havana

In Colombia we’re going through a transcendental time for the peace that could end an armed conflict of 52 years.
Next week thousands of citizens will visit the guerrilla’s camps in Colombia to support the peace deal and defend the ceasefire between guerrilla and government.
The Colombian citizens in The Netherlands and Belgium want to support this initiative. Everybody is welcome to join us and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate with us!
At 12:00 (noon) we will have a chat with a guerrilla peace negotiator to discuss about the peace treaty, post-conflict and the role of the citizenship in the peace process.
Bring and share your questions!
At 21:00 we will present the Colombian film “Los Viajes del Viento” (The Wind Journeys)

Reconstructing Joe’s

In August we are going to give Joe’s a nice d.i.y. skin peeling subotnik. Come along to repair, paint and construct.

The subotnik weekends in August are on the 09.08/10.08.2014 and 16.08/17.08.2014 and start around noon.

We have some tools and materials, coffee and cigarettes, and we can make some nice food together, so come along and bring your friends and comrades.
