Join our vegan Voku diner in solidarity with Belarusian political prisoners. Currently, 1595 people are imprisoned following mass resistance to illegitimate elections of 2020. Although we cannot directly contact political prisoners, we can still support them financially. The donations will go towards (food) parcels, legal fees, newspaper and magazine subscriptions, etc. As the situation in Belarus is not improving, the least we can do is continue to support those serving time for resisting the repression. Amsterdam BANGS is a politically charged joyride taking place all over Amsterdam in September 15th-21st. Get ready for a BANGING theatre and performance festival, organised by anarchists, artists, and activists, to take over not just traditional venues, not just the squats, not just the streets, not just your local Albert Heijn, not just your ING help desk but even your own home. BANGS is non-hierarchically and self-organised, anyone can propose their show, workshop, or performance, so long as it’s non-commercial and BANGING. We wish for BANGS to invite new breath for political movements standing for alternative/radical social and ecological justice struggles (queer-trans-feminist, anarchist, squatting movement, anti-fascist, anti-colonial, anti-racist, anti-capitalist….), as well as opening up Amsterdam to any kind of (experimental and radical) performative arts, taking place freely and collaboratively all around the city. The city is ours! Put on your most flamboyant fashions, clown couture, and celebrate the spells of wicked witchcraft in this time of carnival!

Benefit Voku for L’Auberge des Migrants, Calais

We are a crew of former members of “Foodbank Maastricht”, where food is regularly rescued from being thrown away, redistributed, and transformed into vegan three-course meals. Foodbank saves hundreds of kilos of food weekly and feeds hundreds in Maastricht.
On this Thursday, we are cooking a wonderful three-course vegan meal from rescued ingredients in Joe’s Garage, raising money for “L’Auberge des Migrants” in Calais, northern France. “L’Auberge des Migrants” is a network of employees and volunteers that provides support for people in exile on the France-UK border. Since 2008, they have been active in the region, providing direct material aid, support and advocacy to everyone who needs it.
In one of their main projects called “Woodyard”, volunteers distribute up to 10 tons of wood a week to people in camps, meeting essential winter needs. Their main focus lies on working in solidarity and questioning the dynamics of oppression and humanitarian governance, offering autonomy to volunteers to better respond to the difficulties of living conditions on the border. This aim of this evening is to eat together, and do activities that throw any necessities for small talk out of the window, to help you connect with strangers you’d otherwise be too shy to talk to. Together we draw, play, listen to music and have debates. With your donations, we try to build structures of solidarity, near and far. This time we are raising money for No Border Kitchen Lesvos, a self-organized collective that supports people stuck at the border.

Various collectives, campaigners, unions, squats, autonomous spaces, ngos, activists are unable to organize and communicate without Instagram, Telegram, Facebook, Twitter. Some come to Joe’s Garage to talk about sustainability, equality, human rights, autonomy, emancipation, anarchy, freedom but still, they would like us to follow them on what they call “socials”. No thanks, no to surveillance capitalism! Joe’s Garage isn’t a dystopian Starbucks to give credit to your capitalist sponsors. Winners of the last Big Brother Awards are Meta, X and Telegram.
In the meantime, people have built and are still maintaining a whole infrastructure offering various services, new tools for squatters and activists, for the movement to communicate. Just to list a few of them on a local level, Disroot, Puscii, Squat!net.

The All4All Foundation believes that everyone is equal and that there should be more contact between undocumented migrants, asylum seekers, Dutch people and everybody else. Institutional projects for creating contact between migrants and Dutch people are often based on an unequal relationship, in which the migrants are seen as the ones to be helped. On the contrary, the projects of the All4All Foundation encourage exchange between Dutch people and newcomers, so that they can get to know each other in an informal and relaxed way.
