Le Refuge Solidaire is a center for people on the move in Briancon, France. They are starting a crowdfunding to fund the refuge’s kitchen, which welcomes exiled people coming over the franco-italian border. Offering a warm welcome in times where fascism is on the rise is extremely important for our communities. Hot meals are an essential part of this and their spring fundraiser’s objective is to raise 20 000euros which should fund the kitchen for 4months and allow to serve around 27 000 meals to exiled people in need.

SolidarityLine Croatia (SLC) is a distress hotline for people on the move, supporting those within Croatian territory. The aim of SLC is to assist those in physical danger—whether injured, facing health issues, stranded in forests, freezing, or drowning—as well as those at risk of push backs, in need of asylum access, detained or missing.
SLC supports also people and relatives that are looking for they loved ones that are disappeared on the route. In many cases families contact SLC after loosing the contact with their brothers, nephews, relatives that were crossing the border. SLC in doing this collaborates with 4D. 4D is a migrant justice database operating since many years and focused on documenting human losses that occur on the so-called Balkan Route.
Since May 1st 2026 until today, at least 13 people have died in Croatian territory and along the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia. 13 people in 10 days, in different moments and under different circumstances. The money raised with this people’s kitchen will not go to the SLC, but rather to the costs of a funeral or repatriation of a recent victim of the border regime.

People’s kitchen to support a small group of artists who are struggling making art in Syria because of the islamic radical authorities. Their group is called Artists Against Radicalism. They are busy organizing outdoor events. They want to stop regulations taken randomly by authorities by doing a lot activities to spread art and stand against the ideologies who refuse art for religious purposes. Thursday April 30, 2026, Chaos Kitchen Voku for Former Belarusian Political Prisoners. Food served from 7pm, no reservation.
Since the mass resistance to the illegitimate 2020 elections in Belarus, at least 4,594 people have been recognised as political prisoners. The arrests are still happening, and with the Russian occupation of Ukraine and Belarus’ involvement in the war continuing, we can expect more people detained for their anti-war positions.
Recently though, since December 2025, as part of a deal with the US for lifting sanctions, several hundred political prisoners were released. Some of them were released to neighbouring countries, Lithuania and Ukraine, without the possibility of coming back to Belarus. Urgent help is therefore needed for those brought into exile, as well as those who stayed in Belarus following their release.
While the sentiment behind the release deals is for sure questionable, and it is worrying that the release of a few hundred people may conceal the continuing force of repression, pushing for the freedom of all political prisoners stays a necessity, and so does supporting those who have been released.
To stand in solidarity with Belarusian political prisoners, Chaos Kitchen is raising money for Volnyja that supports those who recently regained their freedom. We will be hosting a voku to raise funds for Casa Zemstvei, an independent cultural space in Moldova which is being forced to relocate due to the government plans to renovate the building and turn it into a museum. We will be serving delicious Moldovan food, and then we will screen “Consider a Tomato”, which tracks the story of a tomato from Moldova to the Netherlands.
Synopsis: In this documentary, director Marina Sulima follows the journey of a single tomato, tracing its path from her mother’s kitchen in Moldova to the high-tech greenhouses of the Netherlands. Guided by a family recipe manuscript, she uncovers the lives and labour entwined with these tomatoes – connecting home kitchens, Moldovan fields, and industrial production lines. Crafted with care and a deeply personal perspective, the film mirrors the way tomatoes were once tended by hand. Through one humble fruit, this poignant, inquisitive, and richly observational documentary invites viewers to rethink the choices we make about what we eat, how it reaches our tables, and what the future of food might hold.
